Creative Tips for Sending Birth Announcements
Take the baby's picture at least a week after birth. Delivery can be hard on the baby, even move the skull bones around...let some time to pass for baby to get in her own groove.
Make sure you have enough postage. These 5.5 x 8.5 inch announcement fit in the included 6x9 envelope and weight under one ounce so all you have to pay for is 1 first class stamp. If you add bulky items inside the envelope, check with the post office to make sure it's not too heavy for 1 stamp or to thick.
Use Microsoft Outlook to do a mail merge with your contacts name and addresses. Each contact in Outlook has a catagory field which you can label "baby card" and then only mail merge certain catagories. It's a little complicated the first time, but once you have it down, you can use this process over and over for birthday invitations, holiday cards, ect.
Take a picture of your baby holding the birth announcement. It will be cool one day to see them so small next to a large cardstock announcement.
